Dear Room 33 Families,
Our days are shortened a tad due to conferences, but we are still going to pack in a week's worth of learning. We are starting week 3 of Unit 2 in language arts. We are also immersing into the subject matter of WWII for our new core literature book, Number the Stars. What do you know, what do you want to know and then we'll go back to it and ask, what did you learn?
We had a math test on Friday and we'll grade and get that back to you by Tuesday or Wednesday. We start division and then looooooonnnnnnnng division. Expect tears, but don't let them flood the path of perseverance. They can do it!
We are starting Spanish exploration and will do quick bios of the main people between now and winter break. Students didn't believe me when I told them that Anza walked right into my little valley off Lost Hills Road and grazed his cattle. He probably drank from the creek outside my home.
We had a lot of fun hearing all about the biographies from student puppets. Aside from all the questions about puppet deaths, they asked questions filled with curiosity and wonder. Well done!
Trips slips are coming home for a fun trip to the science center in December. Let's call it our holiday party. I'll bring a themed treat, but not a dog bone! We are seeing Dogs, A Science Tail. No space shuttle or IMAX this time. It's a short day on the 19th.
See you Wednesday at 12:30pm for our Multicultural Feast.
Sacramento. I'm hearing two chaperones are still deciding. If they step away from the duties, I'll draw names to replace them.
See you on the upper yard.
Note, squirrel is only image that would upload, so there it is. BTW, it's not Thumbelina. Confused? Ask your child. ;-)
